My name is William Okello, 71 years old today. Born in 1955, I grew up in a family that prioritized hard work and resilience for a better tomorrow. With a delayed start to my education, I joined primary school in 1974. After several years of struggle due to financial deficiency, I finally joined Pe_Hill Boy's High School in 1982; a journey that ended abruptly in 1983 in the second year of high school life. As a result, I was forced to take another educational path.

In 1984, I joined Homa Bay Polytechnic, where I learned carpentry and fibreglass technology. My interest grew higher in fibreglass work throughout the journey until graduation, upon which I landed my first job at Waondo Polytechnic from 1988 to 1991, as an instructor.

I then moved to Henkel Chemicals in 1993 as a designer for fibreglass products while also maintaining equipment and machinery, ensuring optimum performance, until 2003.

In 2004, I was porched by Kenya Vehicles Manufacturers, where I also worked as a modeller and production technician, until 2009, before moving to Banbros Contractor as project coordinator, and back to Kenya Vehicles Manufacturers in 2011, where I worked until my retirement in January 2026.

Having retired, I have a burning urge to impact young people through hand on training in fibreglass technology, since no institution in the whole country where this is done. That way, when I finally rest someday, I'll have a generation behind me that will be able to create jobs through fibreglass technology, making boats, flower vessels, vehicle bodies, swimming pools and so on. That way, my purpose would have been fully felt and experienced by the society, passing down the gold of skills that are rare to find in today's world.

WHITE CHEM FIBREGLASS LIMITED

Registered in 2001, this business deals with production and manufacturing of various products using fibreglass technology.

This includes modeling and production of saloon basins, sinks, flower vessels, motorbike carriers, vehicle bodies, swimming pools, boats among others.

As I worked in other companies through the years, my own became dormant, preserved for retirement plan. Now that I'm retired, I want to fully revive it as I train several youth, providing them with these golden skills for a better living condition.

I therefore humbly request for support, to bring this noble dream into reality.

These funds will be used towards the purchase of fibreglass chemicals for the production of salon basins, which are in high demand especially within the beauty industry. Since I'm currently on my retirement, this will be my source of livelihood and that of my family. I'll also impact the community by freely training the youth, giving them necessary skills to be independent in an environment where unemployment is highly witnessed.
