I was born in Homaby county Kenya in a family of fourteen children and currently a mother of five children. I went to Atemo primary school and later went to Nyamache girls secondary school. My family was unable to raise fees for my studies so I couldn't continue to university to further my studies.
However, being a self driven woman I started sugarcane selling after my secondary schools and progressed to raised bus fare to Nairobi to seek other employment opportunities. Life wasn't easy in the city and got married after some time of hustling as I couldn't sustain myself with the little I getting. I had to support my you ger siblings as well. Years passing, I have done lots of activities including working in EPZ's and even selling vegetables along the roadside. However, my dream to be an entrepreneur never died, I continue to dream on how I could improve my life and that of my children.
Through my little savings from my vendoring business, I got able to pay fees for my children and buy food. I later ventured into fish vendoring as I saw it unique and profitable. However, I have passion to improve my vendoring business to a bigger sales store offering deliveries. However, I am financially disadvantaged to improve my business to that capacity as I would require to hire motorbikes for the deliveries and also currently am limited to specific fish stocks.
Over the years I have been able to educate my firstborn to the university and recently graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering). He is very passionate about civil and construction industry. My second born recently finished high school and am working towards taking him to the university to pursue Bachelor of Arts(Education). My other children are in primary schools and passionate about medicine and law courses.
I always pass time reading novels and watching business documentaries as I pass time .
I am a fish vendor and sells fish to my neighbourhood and outreached customers at large. Food is known to be basic want. Fish being a food item is really in demand as a basic want as it's known to many as high rich source of protein.
I choose fish business as it really in demand and easily accessible to many and also having done the business over the years it's really profitable.
I use my sales profit to school my children and I also reinvest part of my profits to add more stock. In addition, I use my profits to buy foodstuffs and basic home items such as sugar, salt, soaps among others.
I would use the funds to buy more stocks and in return I get to increase my profits. This will in turn improve my family livelihood and I will save more for my family basic needs.
I will be able to supply enough fish to my entire community hence improved health to every consumer as fish is a well known protein.
