I am 26 years old, born and raised in Kitui County, one of the Arid and semi-arid regions in the Republic of Kenya. I hold a bachelor’s degree, employed and a part time business woman. I have been employed for the last two years and my business is approximately six months old now. I am a self-motivated individual, ready to take high risks and work hard towards my set goals and objectives. I look forward to being self-employed and creating employment opportunities to many employed persons in my country. I do trade in ladies and children second hand clothing. I intend to expand my business to importing new ladies clothing in future to meet the growing demand.
I am a devoted Christian, and give God all the opportunities he has provide me so far.
I am the proprietor of Grace Classy Collections; a ladies and children clothing store. This idea was born January of this year. The business aims to sell second hand clothing to the said group. The business is approximately six months old now.
While one of the target goals of the business was to open a shop to trade in, this has been impediment by lack of finances. The target areas, which assure large customer volumes, have been expensive resulting to operation of the shop on online basis and therefore low customer turn out. My main cooperation with Zidisha is to enable me get finances to get a shop to run my business and help propel my long term goal; importing ladies and children clothing from China and the United States.
Once my Zidisha loan is granted, it will help me secure a shop for my clothing store. I will be able to pay for the deposit and first month rent as well as add stock to the existing. This business might not have good returns in the first month. However, it will assist in marketing of the business as the chosen location is strategically placed, and also along a highway. I will use proceeds from my business to repay the loan within the shortest period possible. I propose to expand my business and open two outlets in my neighborhood. With the proceedings from my two openings, I aim to advance and import ladies and children clothing from China and USA which would be a breakthrough to my long-term goal. I therefore aim to maintain my relationship with Zidisha till I achieve this.
