It is always good that one should realize that it is not over until it is finally over. No one know what will happen tomorrow. Therefore, I personally motivate myself in whatever failure that comes my way and press on for success. My name is Ruth kurui . I come from Sunyani, the county of uasin gishu in eldoret town. My parents are late now Iiving behind three siblings of which I happened to be the eldest. I started basic education at atlas D/A primary and Junior high school at the same village I was able to secure admission into a senior high school. Surprisingly, I failed in all the courses I studied. This made my parents very furious about this and said that they wouldn’t spend their money on my education again but will rather concentrate on my younger siblings education. That was the end of my education. In most ethnic groups in Ghana, they believe the place of every woman is in the kitchen. According to many, no matter how much you spend on a girl child, she will surely end up in the kitchen. So I was given a capital to start a business of my own. Upon listening to several advice and opinions, I choose to sell cloths
I started selling at a tender age of seven. Though I didn’t want it that way, my late parents wanted me to learn how I will fend for my self. In future. So when my education and dream to be a teacher didn’t push through, I was giving $400 to sell cloths. I begun this business in a small store room in the centre of our town. Business wasn’t easy at the initial stages since I hard a lot of competitors that time. But I was able to go through this situation through my “never give up” spirit I have. Now, many people visits my shop everyday. Now, this business of yesterday has become the back bone of my family. Through this business, I take care of my sibling education and their basic needs. Personally, I am able to put food on the table and buy my personal needs. I also donates money to the poor and needy in my church. I do all these things with the weekly profit I get from my business
I want to include the sales of locally manufactured cloths for both domestic and traditional purposes. These items are of high demand especially in traditional religious festivals in my town and its surrounding villages. My profit will grow rapidly with this line of business
Funds for my cloth industry
