My name Mercy Wambui - a business woman based in Mombasa - Kenya. I was born and raised up in central Kenya near the famous mount Kenya. I was born in a rural area where the main activity was (and still is) farming. My parents like other farmers in the region grew food crops such as maize (corn), beans and potatoes.

I later went to primary school and then joined secondary school. I then did a secretarial course in a vocational institution. I later got a job as a secretary where I worked for a number of year.

I later got married and joined my husband in Mombasa which is about 500 kilometers away. I resigned from where I was employed and joined my husband in his hardware store business. This is what I am still doing to date.

I am a mother of 2 children who are both in school. One would like to become a lawyer and the other a journalist.

My hobby is jogging which I like doing whenever time allows.

The business entails selling of hardware items such as tape measures, adhesives, lubricants etc. I get my stock from the capital city - Nairobi where there are big suppliers. I then retail them from my outlet at a profit.

I sell these items to many technicians in Mombasa city. I use the profit from this business to run our family budget and this supplements my husband's income.

Once I receive the funds, I will buy electrical fittings of which I will target to sell to other people who are constructing houses near my area at a profitable fee and plug the profit back to my business and I believe that I will not let my funders down because as I run my business everyday a lot of electrical items are been asked for from my shop and most of the times am finding myself not able to buy all the things they are asking for due to constraints of funds, but once I get the funds I will be able add those items to my shop, such as electrical wiring, pipes sockets, bulbs and other gadgets required.
