My name is Constance Amadi and I’m from Nigeria. I come from a nuclear family of 4 and I have a degree in Food and Nutrition from Aminu Kano University.
By virtue of my major back in the university, we compelled to pick a vocational skill and baking resonated with me for many reasons;
Firstly, it was due to the fact that I grew up helping my mum bake several pastries in the kitchen and secondly, the fact that I love to get creative particularly with regards to sugar craft.
After graduating from College, I decided to make a business out of pastries and now I earn a living from it.
My dream is to become not just a baker but also a professional cake artist, and I envision myself participating in cake exhibitions on a global stage.
When I’m not baking, I love to sing and write songs. I play the guitar too!
I bake and sell pastries like pies, spring rolls, bread but with a major focus on cakes as it is in high demand in my community.
People order pastries and cakes for all kinds of ocassions like birthdays, anniversaries, graduation and parties and a good number of people in my community depend on me to deliver quality products as I always have.
Right now, I bake using a kerosene stove and that’s quite challenging as I’m unable to do more and match up to the demand I get daily.
With the money I raise, I plan to purchase a 30 inches oven as this will help me increase production and deliver within a shorter time frame. Using a kerosene stove is extremely slow and exhausting and I usually end up lagging behind my product deliveries.
The cost of the oven and transportation to my store costs about $71 and my goal is to own a cake factory that produces loads and loads of quality pastries daily for public consumption and I also plan to build a reputable brand that would scale nationwide.
I plan to purchase a 30 inches oven to help me increase production. At the moment, I produce with a kerosene stove which is relatively slow and inefficient. With this oven, I’ll be able to produce in batches and deliver to my clients on time.
Help me get a new oven for my pastry business
