AM a kenyan citizen and self employed, I started this business in 1997 with only 50 birds , witout a loan , just from my saving, With time I find it to be a good bisiness within Mombasa town with the tourism business which was doing so well at that time.
So ,I decided to go into a large scale business and I decided to buli morebandas for the birds and since that time incresed my business year after year and it has grow
I have a poultry farm and I always keep 150 birds or chicken after two weeks profits after selling is about 22500 ksh after sales,
1- one bird is ksh 65
2 -3 bags of starter and 5 to 6 bags of finisher feeds
3 - costs of electricity is about 700 ksh per month
4- saw dust 8 bags at the cost of 800 ksh plus transport.
The market sotimes is themajor challenges due the seasonal fermers who keeps birds forthe festival season like the christimas and the Esther holidays, and also ther aresome fermers who undercuts the prices so that they can sale faster, this are some of tha problems which we are undergoing as fermers around here, but we hope to overcome thm in the near future
I WANT TO BUY MORE BIRDS AND FEEDS SO THATMY BUSINESS CAN GROW AND BECOME A COMMERCIAL BUSINESS IN AVERY LARGE SCALE ,UNLIKE IT IS NOW. I WISH TO HAVE MY OWN HATCHERY IN FUTRURE SO THAT I CAN MAKE MY OWN BIRDS AND ALSO SALE THEM TOOTHER PEOPLE AND ASLO , I WISH TOMAKE MY OWN FEED ,SO THAT TO CUT COSTS ON THE FEEDS
