I am an IT professional who is also passionate about commmunity transfomation. Key on my transformation agenda is mentoring young people to discover and grow in their God-given abilities and purpose. My current business is a mixed farming enterprise focused on sustainable livestock and agricultural production. I currently own a dairy goat, dogs and a small poultry project, with plans to expand them into a fully integrated farm. The dairy goats will provide milk and breeding stock, the poultry will produce eggs and manure, and the dogs will provide farm security while also generating income through responsible breeding. I also plan to grow fodder to reduce livestock feeding costs and cultivate fruit trees to diversify income and improve the productivity of the farm. By integrating these activities, I will maximize the use of available reources, with livestock manure enriching fodder and fruit production, creating a sustainable and profitable farming enterprise with long-term growth potential
I am seeking financial support to fence my 100x100 ft farm so that I can develop it into a secure and productive mixed farming enterprise. The land has remained idle for the past 5 years because it is not fenced and cannot safely support livestock or permanent occupation. I already own a pregnant saanen daiy goat (which is likely to deliver twins or triplets in the next one month), but it's currently being kept by a friend because my farm is not yet secure. I also have 4 german shepherd dogs, but skipped the breeding cycles this year since they are currently being taken care of at my parents' home, as I don't yet have a suitable place to keep and expand my kennel. Fencing the land will allow me to bring these projects together in one location, including the chicken projectc- for long term expansion. I will be able to rear the goats, establish a kennel, plant fodder for animal feed as well as a few fruit trees. The different enterprises will support one another. The chicken and goats will produce manure to improve fodder and fruit production. The dogs will enhance farm security while generating income through sale of puppies and leasing them out for security and other tasks. Goats will produce milk and breeding stock. Eggs from chicken and milk from goats will be used for both subsistence and sale. A simple caretaker's house will also be put up so that the farm remains occupied and secure.
The estimated cost of fencing the farm is 150,000KES. I am requesting KES 68,000 to begin the first phase of fencing the farm, which will be one section of the farm. The funds will be used as follows:
1. Fencing posts - Ksh. 20,000
2. Chain link and barbed wire - Ksh. 30,000
3. Simple temporary gate and gate installation - Ksh. 10,000
4. Labour and transport - Ksh. 8,000
I will finance the remaining balance from my own resources as the farm grows. Fencing the poperty is the key step that will allow these existing and planned farming activities to operate together, transforming the idle land into a secure, sustainable, and income-generating enterprise
