I am Esther Waithera Waithaka. I was born the year 1971 in Gichobo village, Lare location, Njoro division, Kenya. I am the second born in our family of seven children and my two parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Waithaka. In early 1992, I relocated to Mutukanio village near Egerton University, Njoro sub-county, and got married to Mr. Richard Njoroge. After our marriage which was solemnized at the Holiness & Repentance Church of Yehovah, it gave us another life mileage and to welcome the challenges in our normal lives.
For now, God has blessed my family with four children (1 girl and 3 boys). The girl is called Monicah and she attends the J.K.U.A.T, Juja Campus for the Entrepreneurship course, while the other 3 boys are in Lamudiac Secondary School in form 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
I work in secondhand clothes selling industry. I sell secondhand clothes here in Egerton, Njoro-Kenya. I usually get the goods in wholesale price from Nakuru town, some 13 kms away from Egerton, Njoro. I buy the goods in every Monday of the week. I specialize in selling ladies' skirts, t-shirts (unisex), dresses, and ladies' tops. Mostly the customers comes for the clothes in large numbers since I sell quality, neat, cheap prices and long-lasting clothes.
In a week I can make an average total sales of Kshs. 55,000. Then I restock with 1 bale of skirts at kshs.14,000, 1 bale of t-shirts at kshs. 12,800, and 1 bale of dresses at kshs. 18,000 (total=44,800). The profit I get ranges from kshs. 9,000 to kshs. 13,000, depending on the transportation of the goods from the town. The American Khaki was bought at Kshs. 12,500,and I was able to make a profit of Kshs.7.250. This shows that my business has the capability of making more profit and growing.
I therefore come to your aid in the Zidisha microfinance community for assistance, so that I can buy 1 bale of children's wear (chakara), for which the demand is growing tremendously in secondhand. I will be much grateful with your kind support in my second loan from the Zidisha Microfinance team. God bless you. Regards.
I am gratetful for this second opportunity of applying for a loan in Zidisha to support my secondhand business.
In this second loan, my proposal is to add secondhand clothes for my clients. I am planning to add one bale of second-hand chakara (children's clothing), which are in good in quality and quantity, due to its long-lasting and the best quality material. I am kindly requesting the Zidisha team to support my second loan so that I can stock the goods for the kids. You will be helping my clothes business to grow through Zidisha.
The 1 bale of kids' clothing (chakara) will be costing Kshs. 9,500 (USD $99)
Transportation cost of the bale to my shop will be Kshs. 500 (USD $6)
I remain faithful in my payments and loyal throughout my stay in Zidisha. Thank you.
