I am a web developer with a 4 years Experience, i am employed now for 3 years with 1 year of internship and volunteering in some organization, i have always had a passion to have my own business, which had lots of challenges, i also had passion for my community and i have always wanted to give back so since i dint had money i decided that i will just use my skills to help others, i realized that there are many kids who have passion in IT related stuff but their parents lacked school fees to take them to school, others are denied the learning chance or advancing into their careers simply because their siblings needs to study too hence the priority. I started mentoring them, since i my self too my parents didn't had money to take me to college/university if its not for the European Union which sponsored me to a special design school, so i tried also to help others get the same opportunity but to those who were unable, i went ahead to tutoring them my self, i started a project that mentors and train kids in my community on basics of computer, i love Information Technology and my good Cause faced challenges, lack of equipments e.g Computer, computer room, etc, so i decided to collaborate with a CBO called Raising Hope In the Slums to help run my project, my project is called IT Skills in the Slums currently we are based in the slums of Mathare, but still we got lots and lots of challenges, the organization only had 2 computers that they sacrificed to our program, since Raising Hope too is not yet well up, my kids are over 10 and they are forced to share the computers which makes learning to be not effective, i have many project ideas which can help my my main project raise funds but the project is to kick-start them, like i think to start a cyber which can help in raising funds, i hope some day God will intervene and help my dreams come true.

I am a web developer and i have always had a passion to have my own business, though i have started it but i need financial aid to get the necessary equipment s, i also have passion in giving back to my society though i don't have finance to give back i have skills to also impact the kids in the slums who also have passion in IT but don't have access to this facilities or money to enable them go to institutions that teach IT related courses, so i started a project called IT SKILLS IN THE SLUMS, where i have more than 10 kids who i teach Computer for free, but the biggest challenge is computers, because i only have 2 computers that they are forced to share, hence learning is a bit difficult.

i have been struggling to get cash to buy computers to start my business thank God for Zidisha because i know i am sorted, i will use the loan to purchase second hand computers, and there for my students too will be sorted, my dream is to start an IT centre that will be giving back to the community.

I know we can end poverty, not by giving the poor money and basic needs, but by empowering them with necessary tools so that they can stand firm on their own.
