Hello, my name is Leslie Nduku from Kenya. I am a 34 year young mother of one daughter who is 12 years old. I was born in area callwd makueni which is part of the Eastern side of Kenya. I grew up in a lower class setting. My parents raised us through tough conditions. They were both rice farmers. I struggled to help work extra hours after school in order to secure funding for my college, which I thank God I was able to complete. I studied enterpreneurship. At 22 years old I got my daughter who was born with down syndrome. It has been difficult to raise a child with a disability but we are pushing through. I provide for her through my vegetable vending business. My favorite passtime is knitting. I would also love to travel the world one day.

My business is selling vegetables like tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and canbage among many others. The goods are necessary for day to day life because they are essential in the preparation of meals. That is the reason I chose the business as it assures me customers everyday. My typical costs per month are about 40000kes and I make about 70000 every month from my business. If I getthese funds I plan to buy fresh stock and also build a better shade.

With these funds I will buy stock for my business. These will be beneficial for the community to have access to what they need daily in their homes to cook and in turn will benefit mr by ensuring I make enough money to sustain my business and take care of myself and my daughter.
