My name is Linda and I was born and raised in Nairobi . I come from a polygamous family and I have 8 siblings . It's was never easy growing up because of the polygamous setup. I went to boarding school at a very early age in primary school and studied all through high school. I went to college but didn't finish because of the differences with my dad. My hobby is travelling. Am an out door person . I also volunteer as a peer mentor for girls who have been sexually abused
I started my business after I had my second baby. I wanted a business I could do at home without with my baby because then I had a limited resources and couldn't afford daycare or a nanny. It never picked . I struggled and it was difficult . People were buying on credit. Early last year I met a friend who showed me how to make peanut butter. And it had better profits than roasted peanuts . I was introduced to the organic farmers market in Karen where I started selling. It took a while to pick up and later customers appreciated my products because they are all natural and additives free. I now have almond butter, macadamia butter, cashew butter and pistachio butter. My target clients are people who appreciate natural homemade products , people on weight loss . And working with a few nutritionists to enlighten the clients about the benefits of natural additive free products . My biggest challenge is buying a grinder . I depend on my business for all my family needs and expansion has been very difficult . Under my care is my 2 children and my niece who is 3 yrs.
I'll buy peanuts to increase on stock. I have a Xmas fair coming up in afew weeks and am hoping to start the preparations early .
1kg of peanuts is 1.5 USD
I'll buy 5kgs
I have faith that the fair will be successful and I'll get school fees for my children in January
