My name is George Otieno Owino, a Kenyan citizen born in a village of Kogelo, Awendo Sub-County, Migori County in Kenya.

I started Primary education at Bongu Primary school and did my grade 8 and thereafter, joined Suba Academy in Rusinga Island for Secondary education though I could not manage to proceed to University due to financial problems and through well-wishers who contributed to me, I managed to pursue my studies at World Wide ICT training Centre, and passed well.

After training, I could not get job, I went to Mbita - Rusinga Island to joined group of fishermen just to have something on the table (food). It was hard indeed, but I persistently continued with fishing in spite of the challenges I faced in the lake, especially dangerous animals like hippos that could attack us while fishing. I started saving whatever little I was getting, and I maneuvered to start a small computer shop.

I was focused, dedicated and hardworking. I thought it wise to start offering computer services which was lacking in the area. Due to lack of these services, most people could walk long distance to access computer.

The business of computer services/training which I have started offering promise to play a major role along the lake shore of Lake victoria in Mbita. The School seeks to significantly enhance and expand the visibility of Computing and informatics. The School will provide the appropriate applications and governing structure to ensure that the highest professional standards are achieved and maintained.

As a committed and dedicated institution, it is our goal to maintain a learner focus in providing accessible and quality education to directly prepare our students for further study, or careers in the IT world.

The challenges I am facing at the moment, is majorly on rental costs which are charged highly. But as the business progresses, out of the income got, I will buy land so that we have our own premises for learning. I am again looking forward to purchase a Photo printer and a photocopy machine to ease the work. My vision is to provide innovative and high quality computing and Informatics education at the doorsteps of learners with learner-centric approach exploiting the science of computing and information platforms.

As a family, this business has helped a lot, in terms of food, school fees, clothings and even supporting other children's school fees.

Through Zidisha loan, I have managed to buy learning materials which has helped our learners most of whom are from poor families.

If Zidisha fund me, I will use the loan to purchase a photo printer machine add more photocopy papers, stapler and binding machine which are essential to my business. Being that I am offering photocopy and internet services apart from training, it will boost the business greatly. I remain looking forward to remain a loyal member of zidisha to borrow more to improve both my business and my entire life.
