I hail from a rural area in the Eastern parts of Kenya. I was born in a family of three, but lost my mother when I was aged 5. I later lost my dad when I was 7 years old. Following my dad`s passing on, I never went to school for two years. Afterwards, I resumed my academics with the aid from my relatives. This enabled me to complete Secondary School, before joining KeMU to study Agriculture. After graduation, I was employed at KENRI-Karen. I worked at KENRI for almost two years, before resolving to start my own business. I`m the only learned member in our family, and my siblings look up to me to sustain them, both in school and at home.

I worked at KENRI for two years. My income was quite low, and not enough to sustain me, as well as my family. This prompted me to seek a job elsewhere. Unfortunately, I never secured a better job. Luckily, I had some savings, most of which I used to start my own business venture. My uncle gave me two acres of land, on which I planted kales. This gave me enough income to even start planting cabbages and spinach. I also purchased 5 more acres of the by-then neighboring land. I`ve been using this venture to sustain my family, and it`s been doing great.

Thank you so much again for the earlier loan. it really helped me achieve wonders. My production increase with a very high margin because with the drip i was able to sprinkle water to my crops and thus resisted drought. This helped to ensure increased production. With increased production therefore, i faced the challenge of transporting the Kales to the Markets for sale. I had to hire Pickups to help ferry the kales to the market and this proved quite expensive for me.

I am therefore writing this loan proposal to request for a loan of 193 Us dollars to add with my personal savings of 410 Us dolars to help aid in buying a new motorbike at a cost of 600 Us dollars which will help me ferry my products to the market more easily.

The motorbike will personally benefit me through reducing the cost that i could have otherwise incurred hirering Pickups for transport. it will also benefit other; for example customers will easily get the kales in time, it will also create a job opportunity to the rider.

i expect to generate greater profits from the sale of the kales with my motorbike because the transportation cost will be reduced. i expect to make at least 900 Us dollars per sale of the kales
