I am Afia Felicia, born on the 12th of August, 1980, and now I am 35 years old. I come from the Kuamsi Ashante Region of Ghana. I had my basic education at Presbyterian Junior High School in Kumasi and then furthered to the Kumasi Girls' Senior High School.
After I completed my senior high school, money became a problem for my parents to further my education to the university level. My aim to become a nurse in the future was in vain, because there was no money to pay my admission fees for university education. My father lost his job and my mother too has a little shop which cannot pay my fees.
I went to learn [how to be a] hair dresser for two years and I became perfect. I stopped working and opened my own shop with small capital, but now it is growing well. I have two children and I am catering for them through my hairdresser work for a living.
I live in a family of five and I am the first born of my parents. My children dream to become a doctor and nurse in the future. I am a hard-working woman and I hope to achieve my aim in life through business. My hobbies are swimming, watching movies, jogging, and traveling.
I engage my self in hairdresser work, which I started with small capital and now it is growing well for me because I manage it well so that all my family depends on it for living. I chose this business because there was no other hairdresser salon in the area I live, and my hairdresser salon shop is located at the vantage place where I have many customers.
I use part of the profit for reinvestment so that the business will not collapse, and I use part of the profit to pay my children's school fees. However, now I need a loan to support my shop so that it can increase my profit and my children can achieve their dreams in their future.
I will use this loan to buy a hair dryer with the money I have saved. If my dear Zidisha lenders would give me $100 to enable me to meet the demands of my customers to increase my profit, I can support my family and my children also to achieve their dreams in the future.
