My name is Benjamin Kipsang. I am 30 years old and a hardworking person. i was born in Kitale town and in a family of three. My mother passed on when I was in high school, in form one. She left behind two young girls and her husband. My father is a farmer and he works very hard to put all his three children in school. After two years of my mother's death, my father married another woman who threw us out of our house later that year. I was in my form three and so i had to drop out of school in order to take care of my two sisters. life became very hard for me because i had to look for money yet i did not have any job. i got employed as a waiter in a nearby local hotel. Although the payment was very little, it was able to push us to see the next day and to have food on the table. I had to think of how to get enough money for our survival now that we were on our own. I thought of being an entertainer because i was very social in high school and i was very active in the entertainment sector and i even became the entertainment director when i was in form two. This was my passion and i still loved entertaining people and saw it as an opportunity to earn a living from. I then traveled to Eldoret town to start my entertainment dream because it was well known for ceremonies and entertainments.
with the strong love and passion for entertainment, i started by marketing myself by moving from one shop to another and place to place telling people that i can be hired for entertainments in any kind of events. I was hired to be the master of ceremony of one local wedding ceremony. I took that as a big opportunity to market myself. i did very well and after that many people started inviting me and i started becoming popular as time passed by. The service that i offer is humor. I purpose to make attendants of events and invites to enjoy the events. I also am the organizer of the entertainment in an event and i link with other groups of entertainment such as the music bands, actors and acrobats. i chose this kind of business because i am very interested in interacting with people and i also have a strong passion in entertainment. I got very popular and i have been able to assemble people with talents and i started a company of entertainment for hire. We are hired to offer entertainments in events in Eldoret town. We are a total of ten members now, me being the boss. In a fair day, i get a total of three contracts which each give me about 20 us dollars. having 60 us dollars in a day, i save 5 us dollars everyday with the aim of growing my own business into a big one. We want to start branches of our business in other towns as well. the rest of the money i use for daily food, i pay rent and schooling for my younger sisters.
with the started business, i need this loan to buy materials for my employees clothes. the 10 us dollars that i am getting from this organization will buy me 5 pieces of materials each worth 2 dollars. this will greatly help me because one material produces two pairs of clothing. it means all my 9 employees will get a pair of uniform and one pair will be mine. this will benefit us because we will now look as a team or more as a company in an event. it will make us presentable and it will attract more clients to us. it will also help the client's event to look presentable an have a high attendance. i expect the profit to increase by 2% as per the contract agreement of masters of ceremonies.
