My name is Vincent Anagwe Opati a former pupil and student of Chimosi Primary School in kisii and Kisii High school. I passed very well in my secondary school and manage to get a place at the Kenyatta University for higher education. I am currently in second year at the university studying a Bachelors degree in Business Management.
Back at home there was a lot of problem. My mother passed on when i was in class six and after two years my father got engaged to another woman and married her. She brought her to our home as now my step mother. On her arrival things we running on well and as usual but she changed after sometime. She started mistreating us, beating us up for no good reason and at time she even denied us food. Whenever i reported this to my father it became even worse because my father could not give and ear to whatever i was saying. I was in form one in a day school and my younger sister was in class 7. She mistreated us so much but despite all this i was very determined to work very hard in school, get good grades and get far from home for higher education. God finally granted me my wish. I passed well and managed to go far from home for my higher education.
Back at the university i made good friends who understood the pain that i was going through. I started looking for jobs and something that i could do to get money because i never received money from home. I got a job at a certain hotel where i am currently working as a waiter. I get paid and the little that i get enables me to pay my school fee, sustain my living and manage to send some cash home to my sister for her up keep. This is how i started my business though i do it of part time basis.
I provide waitering service at the Mahindi Hotel in Nairobi. I serve people food, attend to there needs as well as make sure the hotel is clean. I also clean the table after the customers have taken there meals.
This services are useful because they help make work easier for the customers who come to our hotel to take food. I help avail food for them very fast., It is also on demand because our hotel is centrally located in town and therefore a lot of people flock in for meals that is breakfast, lunch and super.
This hotel belongs to one of my class mates parents and therefore him being my best friend and i also happened to have shared my problems with him, he felt for me and talked with his parents who allowed me to work there on part time basis. This allows me to attend my classes and also do my job. This is therefore how i chose this business.
I use the profits that i make to pay mu university fee, support my sister at home as well as sustain my living in Nairobi
I will use the loan to pay my university school fee. This semester i am supposed to pay a total of 300 Us dollars. Thus with 260 Us dollar, i will add 40 Us dollars to the loan and pay the university fee.
I will benefit from this because with the loan, i can now be able to seat for my final second year exams. This will help me graduate to third year come the beginning of December.
I will be paying the loan using the money that i get from my job on weekly basis. Thank you so much may Gog bless you for offering this platform to US.
