I am a farmer and own a retail kiosk in Esirabe, Luanda, Vihiga County. In farming I engage in fish farming, vegetable (kales, onions and tomatoes) farming. For the kiosk I am a reseller of domestic consumables such as flour, sugar, cooking oil, paraffin, match box, sweets, bread, milk, tea leaves, amongst others. I chose this type of business because the two support each other. In farming I have about 1,000 tilapia fish, 200 cat fish, and several fingerlings growing. They are distributed in two ponds. My vegetables stand on a 1/2 acre piece of land and give an average yield of 150Kg tomatoes, 200Kg onions, and 450kg Kales per fortnight. I do sale the produce at about Ksh. 4,000 for 150Kg tomatoes, Ksh. 7,000 for the onions, and Ksh. 6,000 for kale, giving a total income of Ksh. 17,000 per fortnight and Ksh. 34,000 per month. My net profit from farming every month is about Ksh. 20,000 excluding fish farming in which I have only harvested once and sold 50 tilapia at Ksh. 200 each, a total of Ksh. 10,000. I make a net profit of Ksh. 10,000 from my retail kiosk business.

I currently plan to expand my fish pond since I was informed that there is a government agency that will start buying fish from local farmers for refrigeration and value-adding.
My fish ponds are ready to harvest. I had used my money to order for goods for my kiosk and I am expecting to sell them. I therefore urgently need an extra USD 10 to add on the USD 30 that I have to pay workers to assist me harvest fish from my pond and sell. I expect to harvest around 200 tilapia fish. I will sell each at USD2 fetching me at least USD 400. I will use this amount to repay the loan and to restock my kiosk more. I will also buy some fingerlings for my newest pond. I thank all lenders in advance and hope they will accompany on my growth plan!
