My name is Godsave Monday Darip. I am 22 years old and currently a college student. I come from a background where nothing was handed to me, and I’ve had to work hard for everything I have. Since I don’t have a sponsor to support me through school, I learnt how to make shoes and other footwear to earn money and take care of my needs.
At first, making shoes was just a way to survive, but overtime, it became something I’m really proud of. I enjoy using my hands to create something useful and unique. It’s not always easy balancing school and work, but I stay focused because I have big dreams for the future.
I believe where I come from has taught me the value of hard work, patience and believing in yourself even when things are tough.
Through my small business, I hope to inspire others who are going through hard times to keep pushing forward and never give up.
I make handmade shoes and other kinds of footwear. I started this business to support myself in school because I don’t have anyone sponsoring me. What I do helps people who want good, affordable shoes that are made with care and attention to detail.
There is a high demand for quality footwear, especially where I live and many people prefer to buy from someone they trust. That’s what I take my time to make sure every pair I make is strong, comfortable and looks good. I chose this kind of work because it allows me to earn a living using my hands and I enjoy the process of creating something from scratch. My biggest challenge right now is keeping up with the demand because I do everything by hand. That’s why I plan to use the funds I raise to buy a shoe-making machine to make my work faster and serve more customers.
Right now most of what I earn goes into buying materials, tools and helping myself through school. Any profit I make is either saved or used to grow the business. With more support, I believe can take this business to a new level and create something even bigger for the future.
I will use the funds to buy a shoe making machine that will help me deliver fast to my customers on time. I currently make the shoes by hand and it is slow for me to meet up up with demand but the machine will help me meet up.
