I'm Mary a dairy farmer in Kinangop, Nyandarua County, Kenya. I'm a hardworking lady who has studied to college as the highest level I have reached. Networking and having a clear mindset has helped me overcome many challenges in life. I started Dairy farming with two young heifers. I am a football fan and really enjoy watching football especially on weekends.
I'm a dairy farmer located in Kinangop Nyandarua County, Kenya. I currently have three milking cows and one heifer. I choose this kind of business after studying it and realising there's massive profits in it. I sell milk to our local cooperative society called Karati Farmers Society. Am looking for funds to help me buy silage for my cows, I have noticed a decline in production since the silage I had was depleted. The maize corn I have on the farm is not yet ready for silage. I have been using the profits to build a cow shed for my cows.
Currently my silage pit is empty, am looking for funds to buy maize corn from a different farm, I have maize corn in my farm but it's not yet matured to be kept as silage. Having being a dairy farmer for sometime now and having grown up watching my father's cows I now know that silage is very essential in a cow's overall body performance and milk production. If my cow's milk production increases I will be able to pay the funds Zidisha will give me, save some money to buy another cow and with that create employment for another person to work on the farm and most importantly improve my family's livelihood.
