My name is Mercy Moonga and the first born from the family of 4. Being 3 girls and 1 boy. I grew up with both parents. I went to Kasisi Girls Secondary and I obtained division one grade 12 school final results. Currently, I have applied for the school of medicine at the University of Zambia and I have been successfully accepted to enroll this year for the first semester in November. Am also an entrepreneurship, I ran my own business which is helping me to raise funds to be paying for accommodation at the University of Zambia. I started my business through an inspiration from my mother who was a baker. Am looking forward as well to perfect the art of baking as I get empowerment through Zidisha today. Coming to our cultural norm we celebrate our ceremony which is also has become a tourist attraction in Southern province. I love baking, cooking, swimming and dancing as my hobby.
I own a small restaurant and food take away where I make the following food staffs which I sell to earn an income. These are scorns, cup cakes, flitters, bread roses, birthday cakes, samosas, both meat and chicken pies, fish and chips, t-born and chips and our traditional foods. Selling foods in our community would never go wrong because food sell very move very fast to make good income. Going into this business has given me opportunity to raise more income to help me pay for my school tuition fees as especially the good profits that I make day to day. The profits made, I first pay for my tuition fees, buying food staffs and reinvestments to make the business go forward as well as helping my family sibling and my parents.
The needed at the moment, I need to pay for my last semester as I'm preparing to write final the examination at school. I also need to pay for tutorials, buy books and also up keep and boarding school fees. However, I complete and graduate as a medical personnel I will get a higher paying job and earn good money to support my family and impact my community with health matter.
