Hi team zidisha, I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. My name is Lawrence Kalumbwa, I am 28 years of age and I completed school in choma southern province. Life was inherently difficult due to uncomfortable factors, systemic pressure and personal callanges. I use to struggle to pay school fees because of irregular income and I was once expelled from school reason of tuition fee. Such experience made me feel shame, confused and lost, but that didn't not discourage me because I had to adopt a growth mindset and believed in myself and perseverance.
How I started my business was after I got expelled from school. I started doing pieceworks, I could slash peoples compounds, lift heavy objects just to raise capital. Then after achieving a small amount of capital, I started business as a student of data and selling airtime, you know people buy data every day. I became a reseller and sell at a cheaper rates in order to make a quick profit. It was with the help of my class teacher Mrs Kanyembo who showed me a list of profitable small business ideas which helped me get started while schooling with just a small investment after settling my tuition and school fees and got allowed back to attend class again. I even started learning other business ideas that did bring me income and allowed me to earn while learning at school.
When I completed school, the business of selling data and airtime had already grown so I decided to continue with the hustle by adding more ideas. Now I even sell simcards in a mobile booth and I perform money transactions. I also offer services such as registering agent simcards, exchange flots with other fellers whom we are in the same industry.
I choose this type of business reasons, this business is the set up easy and money can be obtained from any booth of which the booths are plenty more than banks. The other reason is that a booth can be set up on a bus. Indeed it is a easy hand off business because you can even employ someone easily to manage the business whilst you sit and relaxing. All you need to do is cashout and cash in of the same capital recycling and increasing.
My profit is mainly used to purchase simcards and top up on my mobile money booth capital for it to be growing every day. I also use it it to include profitable mobile booth models like food kiosk.
These funds have applied for will be used to buy medicine for my sick daughter and other needful things. She is only 11 and she has been battling with anaemia for sometime now. I will add a top up on the money I will receive because the medicine and other treatments the cost is reaching to 1050 Kwacha in our Zambian currency.
