Elizabeth Mukuka is my name, first born in the family of 3 girls and I boy. I was born on 23rd September, 1994 in Misisi Compound in Lusaka. Generally speaking I come from a humble background. My father and mother are business entrepreneurs, my father being a carpenter and my mother being a street vendor in selling different types of merchandisers to raise money for school tuition fees and for home consumption.
I attended my primary school at Johnleigh, while at school, I was very hard working girl and passed my grade 7 examination with high marks. Hearing of my achievements my parent's were very happy and proud of me. I did qualify to form 1 with higher marks and selected to go to David Kaunda Technical School where I attended my form 1 to form 5 and completed successfully.
Looking backwards as a small girl, I have always wanted to become a Nurse, this interest in Nursing started way back when I was in lower grade at primary school. My passion was to look and take care of patients in hospital. My dream came to light when I was form 2, I joined the school drama club, where I was acting the role of a Nurse and I acted with passion to the excitement of the school headteacher, teachers and school peers and I was named student Nurse since then my desire was to become a Nurse for my nation, my family and my community.
Therefore, I went to Makeni College of Nursing where I graduated with a Diploma and currently pursuing a degree in midwife. My advancement in my education career has been hard working to over come challenges through encouragement and motivation from my teachers, parents and lecturers despite coming from a poor background.
Having coming from the DNA of parents who are entrepreneurs, I have had also the passion for business apart from the major career in the field of nursing . Am entrepreneur in online business of selling clothing. I do this business to support the advancement of my degree program in midwife.
I sell clothing sales of dresses, shirts, both for female body tops and men's shirts trousers, suits and casual wear. I do this business online and the income I make is to support the advancement of my degree program at the University in paying tuition fees ,food or up keep and books. Hence I need the funds to support toward completion of this degree program in midwife. I have learnt that education is the key to success and it is the equalizer to many challenges and once I graduate I will end poverty in my family and improve the living standard of my family and my community at large.
The funds I'm requesting, I need to pay for my tuition fees, in preparation of my final examinations and pay for the boarding fees and groceries. However, I also need to order additional goods for small business which helps me a lot when I ran out of money. Once I finish and graduate, I will add value to my community and nation because as midwife, I will help save many lives in our community and support my family
