I am Rachel Wanjiru Kairu. I come from Ndunyu- Chege Sub-location, Thika District. Our division is Gatanga. This is a beautiful part of our country Kenya. I have studied till college where I pursued a diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE). I love children very much and I have always been fascinated just watching kids grow from toddlers, play through their lower years as they grow into adults. This is one of the reasons why I have decided to venture into my career as a teacher. I look forward to each day I spent at my work place as I care for and help these young ones in their education. Other than my teaching job, I like cooking traditional meals and our family loves my days in the kitchen very much. When I am free, I go swimming, watch movies or just go to the woods for a nature walk.
I love taking care of children. After my training, I got a job in a private Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) Center in our estate here at Kiganjo in Thika. This was the whole of 2012 and part of 2013. The work experience has become useful when I was launching my own Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) Center in September 2013. Private ECDE Center services are in great demand in Kenya because the government centers in public primary schools are either understaffed or overstretched by the number of students. The learners therefore do not get quality services. As a private ECDE Centre, we take appropriate measures to make sure that we give the learners the best environment to grow and learn.
I started the centre with the help of my savings from my previous job. In 2013, we had one room which served as a classroom and an office. But after a successful marketing campaign in the estate, this year, we got more students, and added one classroom as a result. I even hired two full time ECDE teachers to help me. We are now three teachers taking care of the children.
The parents of the children we have here are happy with the work we are doing and this good will in future translate to more learners. I look forward to a time when this centre which started from scratch will be a big primary school in this estate.
dear lenders, mine is an acadedy where i deal with children. I struggle to make sure that the children who come here are getting a solid foundation in their education. This loan will help me add more desks to my school so that the young ones sit comfortably.
I look forward to this loan.
Thank you.
