Am Angella Maramba working with knls Nakuru and also am an American Corner coordinator.Am married with 4 grownup kids who are in the university.I grew up in western Kenya and also went to school there.
My dad passed and i was the bread winner of the family from the age of 21 years.
I struggled with my school fees till i attained a diploma in information science and that is how i ended up working for knls.
My culture we love chicken without a chicken in the home state you are not considered a Luhya.
One of my kid is doing computer science she would like to have her own cyber cafe when she finishes school.The other one is doing her degree in information science at Kenyatta university in Kenya.
Am working with a government organization and also sell chicken and eggs.The products are of high demand and also they help me in the education of my kids. I have a kid in class 8 who helps to look after the chicken after school and during holidays.
I have 200 layers and i collect 6 trays of eggs . On average i make ksh.1500 per day.
I buy 2 bags of layers mash per week at a cost of ksh.5000.
The profit i get we use the money for my kids transport to school and groceries.
when i get the money, i will use it to buy more 1 day old chicks to increase to my stock. I want to turn this into a main income earner so that I can supplr\ement my income to take care of my increasing financial needs.
