I am Taza Kayombo, and I happen to be the eldest of two siblings. While growing up, I witnessed my parents separating at an early age. My unskilled single mother, worked tirelessly selling vegetables and charcoal to provide for us as childrens. Tragedy struck when I was in grade 10, my father passed away and just few years later after me completing high school, I lost my mother too. Suddenly orphaned and I stepped into the role of parent, raising my young brothers under extreme difficulty circumstances.

‎But even in the darkest moments, light began to shine. The community of christ Congregation in Kanona became a sanctuary of hope. Leaders such as late Pastor Chikoti Andrew, Mulenga Lazarus and Chobe Jacob offered more than words because they extended hands of compassion. The church not only welcomed me and my siblings but also helped us with rent and provided encouragement that reignited my dreams.

‎Today, I am serving as the volunteer headteacher of the very school that gave me and my family a second chance, while on the other hand I am running a business. I am passionately by advocating for vulnerable children to access education and spiritual care. And I can proudly testify that two of my brothers are currently enrolled in junior school.

I have a shop were I manage selling dolls and toys for the kids, although kids doesn't buy the toys, so I target the parents. Toys and dolls are desirable to  any kid so they may ask their parents to get it for them, but it’s going to be the parent’s decision to purchase the toy, therefore I make sure I look for visual appeal, emotional connection to attract them. Doll making business is profitable and It allows for creativity, self expression and the ability to connect with customers who appreciate handcrafted items. Furthermore, selling dolls and toys offers me flexibility, as it can be run from home and often requires minimal startup costs,  that's why I choose to run this type of business. And I use my profit for covering up operating costs, paying debts, and reinvesting to ensure long term sustainability in business. I also directly provide the income needed to afford food, shelter, clothing, and other essentials.

My last project and the plan for use of the funds was successful, My business is growing with at least a minimum earned everyday after sells. On this next project I am planning to use the funds as follows: I want to invest more on my business by purchasing more dolls because they're in popular demand now and parents are reaching out on them for their kids.
