My names are Jackson Moyi Tabwa. I am 29 years old from Kakamega County. I went to Lufumbo Primary then to Shitari Secondary School. This is how I got my primary and secondary level education certificates. Besides instabilities, I decided to work hard in my life to achieve my goals. In 2009, I joined my friend, who informally trained me [in] some mechanics. I trained for 2 years, then after I engaged in selling spare parts and repairing motorbikes.
After my 2 years of training in motorbike repair, I started my own garage with the little savings from my previous earnings while I was training and from my parents' contribution. I depend on my business for all sources of supply of my needs. From it I am able to support my parents and other relatives who stay around me. I have also employed some people in my shop and workshop to make my work easy and efficient. I have been attending workshops and trainings sponsored by different groups to be enlightened with changes on the new technologies. [With this] Zidisha loan I wish to use the funds to increase my spare parts stock, which will increase my profit margin. My vision is to create employment opportunities and training for the youth.
I will use the loan as follows:
$100 for tyres
$50 for engine oil
$50 for rubber tubes
$40 for engine valves
$10 for miscellaneous and transport
Thereafter I will use the profit generated to increase my stock and pay other bills like rent and electricity.
