Hi. My Name is kingsley. I was born in Nyagechenche village, Kisii, Kenya. I am the eldest of my 3 siblings, who are still in school. I went to school at Ikonge Primary School situated in Nyamira County, near Kemera town. And then later, after 10 years of primary education, I joined Ikonge Secondary School, where i completed my four-year certification. Unfortunately, i couldnt go further since i had to give room for my brother, who followed very closely to also get some basic education. My parents were regular farm villagers who had no real sense of income, so growing up hasn't been easy. After my secondary school, i decided to get out of the village and look for ways i can help myself and my family back at home. I have moved between towns without knowing anyone, working casual jobs here and there for almost 8 years until my recent one being Kakamega, where i reside now. i am helping my mom and my two brothers and one sister since my Dad just vanished and neglected them in the village. So i automatically assumed responsibility. Here in kakamega, life hasnt been easy i have worked in so many casual jobs, saving a little cash untill i decided to start my shoe selling business. i love singing and i pray that someday i become a succesful Musician.
I sell slightly used shoes for both kids, ladies and men. In this town I reside, almost every person wears used clothes and shoes because they tend to be cheap. Acquiring these shoes can be a challenge since i have to board a bus from kakamega to Nairobi city where the big market is. i have to board it in the night to make sure that i arrive in early mornings. This is when one can get good shoes since demand is very high. so costs upto 50 usd for transportation alone. I dont really buy much shoes because i have limited capital of approximately 530 USD that i have to maintain. I do get fair profits at times depending on days and the type of shoes i get. i support my siblings with the help of my mother to cater for eduation and their well-being. I wish i could find a way to expand and maybe have my stall from where i can permanently operate from.
I would love to add stock to my slightly used shoes business. Funds I will raise here will help me in acquiring good quality and by so, will get many and repeat customers whoch is a dream for every business. By so, I will get to cater for my family needs comfortably.
Thanks all in advance.
