My name is virginiah njoki.I was born in subukia in Nakuru county.I was raised up in Kiborocho village in subukia. Subukia is a dry place most of the time. When i attained seven years old i joined nyataragi primary school, where i did my kcpe exam. There i got a certificate.since my parent were not well up ,i didn't continue with high school education.Later on i moved to Kiambu county in search of a job.The first job i got was a house girl.Th job was not wellpaying so i decided to quit. As years went by, i joined theological school were i got a certificate in theology. In 1998 i got married and by now i have got two children. My children aspire to be doctors .Kiambu is a cool and went place it's a high land.
Down the line i got connected to a person who taught me bead work. After three years of working, i had skill and a little capital.I decided to put my own business. At start the business was not promising but i encouraged my self and finally it picked up.Bead work mostly involves decorations.I make thing like mats, small baskets, neck less, handbag s using beads of different co lours. The work is comfortable because i work in my house and in my own speed. In a week i normally make 20$. During the pick season when the tourist come to our country Kenya, the business really pays well.My average income is 250$ per month. I uses my income to pay school fees, buy food stuff and pay house lent.
