I am a young graduate thats looking to start my own interior landscaping business I have over five years experience in the field but I recently lost my job due to redundancies in the company. I enjoy gardening as a hobby since I find it very therapeutic. In my home town Nairobi Kenya , there's a big challenge of urban green spaces where people can go ro relax and unwind since most developers build just highrise rental apartments on all the land available. The residents have as such opted to create small gardens on their balconies where they can unwind after a long day at work. Unfortunately there exists just a few of us that have the skills to professionally transform small balconies into lush green ambient terraces.
Coming from a humble background in Githurai 45 ,I worked hard to finish my course.having endured financial constraints. I hope to better my family livelihood once I start this business using the profits I can generate. Because the market is there., I have confidence that I will be able to pay and help other projects like mine that need starting capital .
My business is called POTMAN based here in Nairobi the capital of Kenya..As a landscape architect, I noticed a gap in the real estate market. Most developers are not keen on providing green spaces for people to unwind in their developments. As such my business is targeted at the young populous living in the highrise apartments around our capital city of Nairobi..I Will be transformong.thier small balcony into cozy xhillspots using a wide variety of colourful pot plants, hanging baskets and outdoor furniture to their satisfaction.
since it is a consultancy based business, I charge 25% fee for design and facilitatiom of the tutal cost of the project with a downpayment of 10% of the budget upon being commissioned for any pruject. All costs are paid for in advance by the client directly to either our suppliers or our accounts. I use most of the profits to take care of my.needs and family and reinvest back into the company.
