Am Oscar Orisi born in 1987 and started schooling at the age of 3yrs old in a baby class for one year,later i joined nursery school at the age of 4 yrs and later pre-unit for another year after which i qualified to class one. as a child i wished that one day i could own a business.i joined Tente primary for my primary level and later proceeded to Kebirigo high school.after high school i joined Eldoret polytechnic where i took a business course.after finishing my college education i came up with an idea of starting a cyber cafe but my challenge was how to raise the finance needed so that my idea would be executed.
I managed to start my own business with the little i had saved and with the assistance of my parents. but due to the little i had i started it as a computer service center i.e providing services like photocopy,printing and typesetting.
whats is unique about the culture where i live is that people have become computer literate and people have the anxiety of technology and hence there is need for access to computer services like internet. my children like their father wish to have a business firm and prospering in future.
my unique hobby or pastime is that i have a passion for computers so at my free time i like playing computer games.
At my business center i usually provide computer services like photocopying,typesetting and printing,lamination,scanning services and office stationery. Due to growing demand and modern day technology people use or need computer services inorder to satisfy their needs. People need access to computers in order to communicate with one another through the internet and hence the need for this services.
i chose this kind of business because among all the business ideas i had in mind starting this kind of business seemed pocket friendly in terms of cost, it was simple to start and operate and there was no legal conditions required before i could start its operation as it requires only a business license to operate. The other reason why i chose this kind of business is that being a sole proprietor type of business decision making is quick and lastly the sorrounding i.e people,schools and other institituons needed this services since they could walk for a long distance to get them( its location)
my typical costs are salaries which i pay my workmate,transportation costs incurred when for example i go to buy goods in bulk,rent and government taxes.
my typical revenues is my business plus the little i get from my small tea plantation.
i normally use my profits majorly in reinvestment in my growing business and in paying school fees for my children.
The loan i will get will help me buy a photocopying machine for my business so that i can offer quick services to the increasing number of customers. The cost of buying it is kshs. 50,000. the loan will boost me because the little amount i have will not cater for its price.
If i buy this machine it will help me speed up my customers needs and it will ease congestion and there will be an increase in profits.
If i buy this photocopying machine my profits will increase by a margin of 50% per month.
