I was born into a family with four sisters. when i reached standard seven and I dropped out of school because of the challenges that I could not overcome. I chose to train as a carpenter and also kept animals like chicken, goats and sheep. after training I was able to make furniture for people and they would pay me but that money was not enough so i decided to plant kale. i sold them and bought 50 chicks.

I live in a multi-cultural community that is strategically located and ideal for livestock and poultry production and other businesses.

my child aspires to be an architect after education.

i normally spend my my time in reading newspapers and journals, mostly in areas concerning livestock production and other businesses to increase my skills and competency in that field.

my business is purely centered on poultry production. here i rear chicken for both meat and eggs.

they are useful because;

1. the environment that they are kept in is clean and conducive

2. i rear both exotic and indigenous breeds.

i chose this business because it is profitable and also easy to manage.

my main source of revenue is through the sale of eggs and chicken which amounts to Sh. 170,000

the main costs incurred in daily operations include;

1.chicken feed Sh. 20,000

2.rent/housing Sh.50,000

3.medication Sh. 2,000

4.buying chicks Sh. 20,000

the profit gained i use to re-invest in growing my business and meeting the household needs.

If i receive the funds i plan to invest them in my poultry business by increasing number of chicks and food .This will increase the number and the produce more instantly.The project will assist me financially meeting my personal needs and extra cash for loan repayment
