Is a single lady aged 39 year and with two lovely sons. I AM happy to be a mother and promise them the best of life and education since the death of their father in 2007 and after their family rejected us. Am a business lady based in githunguri town in Kiambu County. I live in my parents plot in githunguri just opposite githunguri law courts. Am a holder of diploma in AITA/UFTAA that’s issues to do with air ticketing and tourism. Course of 1997 thus in education I have gone up to college. I started business in 2005 after falling to secure a well paying job due to low tourism flow in Kenya back then. I started the supply of construction materials in construction site like shatter poles and timber but left it later due to the law of forest conservation. From what I got from my business I bought a second hand pick-up which I ventured to transport business. Once I got a contract with a farm that gave me transport of milk from the farmers to their plant but it later collapsed. After saving enough I started my poultry farming and rabbit raring business in which am doing it to date since 2010. Today I have a plot in ruiru which I intend to construct a home when I save enough. Currently I have 250 layer, 100 broilers and 10 rabbits. I have the passion of raring turkey later when I will have enough capital. I believe in trying and doing the best I can to give my family the best. If I get the finance I will invest in my poultry farming since I intend to raise the number of layers to 500 and 400 broilers and then add value to my product that is opening a ken chick shop like a butchery dealing with white meat. This will help me avoid the loose occurred when the market floods with products and store my product in deep freezer. This will raise my margin profit and raise my life style. I will also buy from other farmers and make profit. In my own free time I enjoy music and watching moves.
From the daily collection of eggs in which I collect 8 tray of eggs @300 each thus 2400 daily plus the boilers’ which goes for 6 weeks @ 340 thus 34000 kasha. After deduction of expenses I manage to get 35,000 ksh monthly. Due to the high raise in consumption of white meat due to health problems I wish to make it available to my customers. I want to double my profit and satisfy my customers and improve my life style. From the manure I get from the chicken waste I get profit since I sell to dairy farmers who use it as animal feeds.
i will add 20 chicks with that 1,000 to the other few i have and make a profit out of them.
one chick at a cost of 50 Ksh. after 5 weeks i be able to sell each hen at a cost of 320 Ksh. minus the feeds and labour each hen will make a profit of a hundred shillings (100 \Ksh) thus the 20 chicks will bring me a profit of 2000 Ksh.
