Am a Kenyan, Civil Engineer by profession and currently working with the Government of Kenya. Because of the competitive nature of the Kenyan economy, many professionals are engaged in various business activities as side hustles to supplement their main income. I have been in business myself for quite some time and i have interests in agribusiness and lately construction industry.

I do horticultural farming, mainly producing fresh vegetables for local and export market. I have a contract with an Export company to supply French beans throughout the year . I do local vegetables on rotational basis; these are sold at the city of Nairobi. Currently am farming on a 20 acre piece of land under furrow irrigation in Narok County. Am planning to expand and also venture into fruits for exports.

I have also started a construction company that mainly deals with private residential housing development.

I will use the funds to prepare my farm for the new planting season & buy the necessary farm inputs. It will help me free up funds to support my family needs in January (school fees etc) & ultimately guarantee produce from the farm which the community around can buy at affordable prices.
