Victor Kiplimo now a resident of Nairobi was born and raised for a better part of my life at the streets of Nairobi with no parent and people to rely upon. One day the government of Kenya decide to arrest all the street children and relocate them back to their home and some to the children homes around in Nairobi. I thank God because i was so luck because i was very young and managed to be take to the Lewa Children's home in Nairobi.
My life and thus realization of the self started at the school or rather the children's home. I found a father and a mother figure at the home and managed to access school which was always my dream.
i was therefore enrolled at the Lewa Primary school in Dandora where i studied my primary level up to class eight. I managed to score good grade and attracted sponsorship from the school sponsors. I was taken to Starehe High school in Nairobi. My secondary school fee was sponsored all through to form four. I believed in hard work as the only weapon to my success. I therefore worked very hard all through my education and managed to pass in my final examination and score grade A- that allowed me to go to the University. I am now in my second year at the Nairobi University studying Information Technology. That is basic description of my school and education life.
At the campus therefore, i started the cyber cafe using the little money that i used to be given as pocket money. I saved the money every time i had excess. Thus with the money i manged to start this cyber cafe with still the help of my friends who always assisted me when ever i needed help.
I provide services and this service are cyber related services, That is i do typing, printing, i provide internet services for people to browse, i also sell movies and music.
This service are very useful because having mu shop inside our school that is Nairobi University at the student center i am able to win more customers because of the large number of students who are in need of this services. This makes my service useful and therefore on demand.
I chose this business mostly because i am majority in Information Technology and thus i understand it better and i also decided to do this business so that i can be making my own money and off load the sponsors the burden of giving my pocket money and money for some small staffs which i believe i can handle by myself.
I won an advertised tender at the students department and thus i don incur a lot of expenses because for a period of two years the institution will be paying the rent and also the electricity bills. The only expense that i incur on monthly basis is payment of 30 Us dollars to the students organization for the school development.
I use the profits that i make to expand my business. For example at the moment i have a challenge with the printing machine because the one i currently have can not print large volumes of papers. Thus i have made some saving to help me acquire the bigger printer.
Learnt recently of zidisha and i give it credit fro being the best online lending institution. Therefore with a loan of 260 Us dollars, i will use the loan to buy a printer for my cyber cafe. The printer will go for 400 Us dollars. Therefore i will add saving of 140 Us dollars and make the purchase.
I will benefit from this because with the printer i can be in a position to print almost 2000 articles per day and this will increase my income in general.
I expect to be making a profit of close to 50 Us dollars per day from the print business only. This is so because many students flock at my place to photocopy handouts and print documents
