My name is Henry Tembo. I am a resident of Chilenje in Lusaka, Zambia. I completed my high school education in 2003. Although I had enrolled for studies at a local university some years ago, I could not complete my studies due to lack of funds/ sponsorship. This being the case, I decided to venture into business after a five year stint in employment. Currently, I operate a print shop situated at Chilenje Market in Lusaka. The profits from this business, helps to sustain and cater for the needs of my family of four; thus, me, my wife and two children who are both in elementary school.

My business mainly operates as a print shop, which generally involves offering printing, scanning, typing and photocopying services, including passport photographs. Although, other services such as corporate/ busines statutory compliance and tax registration are offered.

I intend to upscale the business by transforming it from a print shop to a fully fledged business centre, by broadening the range of products and services offered to include colour printing, document binding and lamination, stationery and mobile money transaction services.

This expansion also entails investing in uplifting outlook of the store in order to make it more attractive and appealing for customers. Overall, this expansion is intended to double the profitability of the business from the current K5,500+ to K10,000 or more per month.

The funds are intended to be used for the purchase of a new Power Backup System to alleviate loss of business, as a result of heightened loadsheding which has been implemented by the Power Supply Utility Company in Zambia.
