My name is Dorin Myiriya Emmanuel, and I’m a 26 year old fashion designer from Kaduna State, Nigeria. Growing up in Kaduna, I was always surrounded by vibrant culture and creativity, which inspired me from a young age. I developed a passion for making dresses early on and decided to turn that passion into a profession.

Starting my own business wasn’t easy- they were many challenges along the way, from finding resources to building a customer base. But my determination and love for fashion kept me going.

Today, I create beautiful, handcrafted dresses that reflects both modern style and traditional Nigerian elegance.

I’m also a proud mother, and having a child have given me even more motivation to succeed and build a better future. Everything I do is not just for me, but to set a good example and provide a strong foundation for my child.

Kaduna is a place rich in culture, color and resilience, and I try to bring that into every design I create. Through my work, I hope to inspire others, especially young people in my community to follow their dreams no matter the obstacles.

I run a small dress making business where I design and see beautiful clothes for women. I make all kinds of dresses- casual wear, church outfits, party dresses, and even custom pieces for special events. In my community, many people prefer tailored clothing that fits them well and shows off their personal style, so there’s always demand for what I do.

I’ve always loved fashion and creating things with my hands. Turning that passion into a business has been a blessing, but it hasn’t been without challenges. One of the biggest issues I face is not having my own sewing machine. Right now, when I get a lot of orders, I usually have to give some of the work to other tailors, which means I loose a portion of my income. It also affects the consistency of my work, since I can’t fully control the quality or timing when someone is sewing for me.

If I had my own sewing machine, I’d be able to do more work by myself, meet deadlines faster and keep more of the profit. It would really help me grow my business and become more independent.

The funds I’m hoping to raise, would go towards buying a sewing machine and also getting essential materials like fabrics, buttons and threads. These are things I need everyday to keep my business running. From the profits I’d make, I plan to use some of the money to take care of my daughter especially for her education and basic needs.

My goal is to grow my business, provide for my child, and one day even train other young women who want to learn tailoring. With your support, I believe I can take the next big step!

If I receive the funds, I plan to use it to buy a sewing machine and production materials like fabrics, threads and zips. These tools will help me work faster, make better quality dresses and meet the growing demand from my customers.

Right now I do everything by hand and it takes a lot of time and energy. With the machine, I can increase my production, keep the complete profits rather than giving out the work to other tailors, and serve more people.

This support will help me trade better care of my daughter. I want to give her a decent life and a good education and the profits of the business is how I intend to achieve that
