My name is Mercy Ombego a Kenyan citizen, 32 yrs of age a mother of one. I am a second born in a family of 5[ 3 brothers and 1 sister].

I was born in the coastal region of Kenya Mombasa city and I was privileged to study to high school however I didn't continue to college because of finances.

I sought for casual jobs in the city for about 10yrs and I saved a little amount which later in 2019 I opened my own business.

I and my hubby run the business where I operate in the shop as my hubby do home delivery of gas cookers around the city.

During our part time especially on weekends, we take our son to children play ground and later have a coffee out.

So far, we are doing great both in business and family set up.

I manage a small mini retail shop that serves the daily needs of customers in my neighborhood.

In my shop, I sell essential household products and the most popular items include cooking oil, baking flour, and basic food commodities.

These goods are purchased frequently because they are used for everyday cooking, and as we approach the festive season, more customers are preparing for celebrations, which leads to an increase in demand.

I decided to venture into this business because it is practical, sustainable, and meets the needs of the local community. It also allows me to operate with manageable costs while providing a consistent source of income.

My main expenses come from restocking products, transportation, rent and other small operating costs. My revenue depends on daily sales, which improve significantly when my shelves are well-stocked with fast-moving goods.

To take advantage of the festive season, I am seeking support to increase my stock of cooking oil and baking flour so I can meet customer demand and grow my income.

The profits I earn help support my home and I reinvest any extra income to steadily expand my business.

Purchasing of cooking pots and thermoses .The profit will help me clear my son's school fees for this term and buy him some school requirements the rest of the money I will use it to pay rent for the shop .
