AMOI SILAS is the good name my parents gave me when I arrived in this world on Monday midnight 14th June 1992.I am the last born in a family of four boys. I was not lucky enough to have sisters in my family and this really made find it hard interacting with girls because I had not lived with one in my family.

I started my education at the age of five in the year 1997 at Mbale Shalom Academy at the baby class level. I then joined the primary school level in the year 2000. My education was a success since I was always performing well in my studies right from the first day. In the year 2011 I was done with the primary school education and sat for the KENYA CERTIFICATE OF PRIMARY EDUCATION and managed to score 398 marks out of the possible 500 marks. I took the first position out of 62 pupils. These marks secured me a chance at Chavakali boys’ High School in the year 2008.I was at Chavakali for four good years and by the year 2011, I was done. I sat for the final exam and managed to score 69 points out of the possible 84 points. I then joined University of Eldoret in 2012 to pursue a degree in Education ARTS-English Literature. Am now doing my final year and I will be done by 13th may, 2016.

My life as a young person has not been an easy one. Having raised by parents who are peasant farmers has made me learn how to work hard in order to achieve certain goals in life. I have gone through all my education courtesy of my brothers who have paid all my school. I have always worked during holidays to fetch money for my upkeep while at school. It has been hard but I am happy am almost coming to the end of my education.

Because of the hardship in my family. I had to look for a means to get money to see me through my education. I applied for a loan at the Higher Education Loans Board. I was allocated a loan of 35,000 KES which enabled me start a small business. I bought a laptop which enabled me to do online assignments for people and get paid a minimum of 200 KES per assignment. I come from Vihiga County. Vihiga County is a county with less but valuable resources such a gold mine at Mbale. Our culture is kind of modernized.
