My names are Joseph Omondi Omondi. I was born in 1969 in Kisumu county -Nyakach sub county. I am currently residing in Limuru -Kiambu county and working in

Brackenhurst hotel and conference as a chef. My formal education started in Pap-lisana primary school and later transferred to Onyuongo RC primary school where I sat for KCPE in 1985. In 1986 Feb' I joined Olembo boys high school up to 1989 when I sat for my KCSE exams and attained "C" plain. Due to the fact that I lost my mother in 1980, my father could not afford to continue paying for my college education. I therefore opted for general casual labor for one year. I tried my best but i could not get place sustain my life and other family members including my father who was by then growing older.

In 1991 I joined Kenya National Youth service for military disciplinary and drill training after which I voluntarily served my Nation for one year and four months. In 1993 I joined N.Y.S catering school up to July 1995 and satisfactorily completed a craft certificate course with credit pass. I August 1995 I got a casual job in lake Nakuru lodge as a trainee cook. In January 1996 I got another job with the Ark limited as a cook I worked here up to the year 2001 January when I joined Brackenhurst. During this period everything changed as I went through many temptation, I lost all my brothers and sisters and even my father. At this point even my wife Mary ran away from me. I am a single father with four children; two daughters and two sons. My daughter is now in form three and she is dreaming of becoming a psychologist or actress and my elder son who is in form one is dreaming of becoming a military engineer with the special force. Sometimes life is very turf but I have to work hard to maintain my children and they are doing fine. During my free time I like to read the Bible , chat with friends and en gage my children mostly during the school holidays

I thank God for giving me the strength and ability to look after my children and I believe my future will be better than the past. God is good all the time.

I am currently earning my income from the formal employment in Brackenhurst hotel and conference. Besides this am also engaged in grocery business. I supply the locals and also sell directly to the consumers. I came up with this business idea after observing from my area of work how suppliers were engaging in business and the demand for groceries; that is cereal, fruits and potatoes. My expenses ranges from ksh 23,000 to ksh 50,000. the profit raised from the operation helps in settling school fees

for my children and my brothers' children. If all goes well I am dreaming of putting up my own house and also start up rental houses in Muhoroni town center.

I will invest loan as follows ;

(2) Brown Dal 50 kg at us dollars 97.5

(3) Potatoes 280 kg at us dollars 74.7

This will raise gross profit of us dollar 130.5
