My names are Aziza Andera a first born girl in a family of seven girls, I have one child now in early childhood school. I come from western kenya near the border town of uganda. Generally in my community girls rarely make it to high school, they are married off early often while still children and thus lead a very poor unsatisfying life. I was lucky that my dad chose to have us educated although from his meagre income from subsistence farming. Am a trained teacher though I haven't received government placement and am now working as an Mpesa attendant with an agency. I grew up a very determined girl, taking challenges head on since my mom lives with a disability and i had to step in to assist when my dad passed on in 2021 covid time. I want to be a role model to my siblings and other girls in my village that women can always break off tough belittling culture and invest and lead a good life even educating their children. An empowered girl and woman accessing opportunities means a developing society.

I conceived my business idea when my mpesa clients kept asking me where they can buy soft drinks and snacks. I then decided to provide the same by purchasing a fridge, sodas and snacks. The profits from this will be used to supplement my income in paying for my child's fee , supporting my mom and my siblings still in school.

increase of my stock to serve my clients. this will increase my revenue, help me pay my childs school fees, support my disabled mum. To the community am setting and example of women and girls who can be financially independent through safe and dignified ways.
