My name is Margaret Nyambura Mburu. Mburu is my father. I live in Kiptagwanyi Center, plot no. 12/k. I am single and born again, being a follower of Jesus Christ, and I attend AIC Church, where I am a member. I am a mother of two children, who depend on my work as a teacher in my own day nursery school.
I was born in 1978 in Nakuru town, where my parents got a plot before we migrated to Kiptagwanyi when the living became very hard, according to my parents, and my father bought land in this area. I started my education in 1983 in Nakuru, but before completing my primary school, my parents migrated and I enrolled in Muriricua in std 4. I completed my primary education in 1990. I scored C in all subjects, but, for a girl at that time, to get that score was fair, so I joined Muriricua Secondary School and completed form four.
I didn't join university but instead I joined ECD College and completed it in one year. However, because of lack of employment in this country, I decided to start my own nursery school, as there were many children in the area. The earning from this business helps my family to get basic needs and also pays for my children's education.
My business entails in educating children, the young ones, to give them education. I started this business after completing my ECD course, which is to care for small children of ages between 3-5, from giving them education to giving care. The cost of one kid a term is 800 [Kenyan shillings] ($8 USD) and I have 30 kids in two classes. For the second class I have employed another teacher to help me with these small kids, who need much care so that they can grow and be able to read well.
The main challenge is the high cost of a license from the local council, which made me not help as many children as I want. I also have a lack of funds to make a good place for these children, but I hope Zidisha will give me this loan for the sake of these children so that they can enjoy reading. The money their parents pay can't help much, as I have another teacher who depends on me to do work. Like now many parents want to enroll their children in my school, as they say I care for the children better than the other private nursery school. If i can get this loan, it will boost me a lot.
Thank you lenders for this opportunity to have another loan. The previous loan helped my students and me very much.
In this loan, I want to start a lunch program for the students of my school, so that they can have enough time to learn without any problem of being hungry in the course of the day and wasting time going to lunch, as some of the kids travel far to get lunch, and sometimes their parent waste time bringing food in school for the kids.
This is after consulting with the parents and we agree that it will be better. The cost of this program is:
[1] 3 big sufuria__9000ksh
[45] plate____4500ksh
[50]spoon___2500ksh
[1] big jiko special___14000ksh
[others ] 12000ksh
[1] worker 6000ksh per month
A cooking kitchen house also will be built to cater for space and clean for the food to be cooked in. And, because it is a cost sharing between the parents and me, this thing above is what I am supposed to cater for. The other remaining will be provided by the parents. So please I beg you lender to fund me, so that these kids can benefit and get at least a better education. Thanks.
