My name is Robert Kaguma, born in Central region of Kenya. I went to school up to secondary level and then joined a college where I was trained as an auto mechanic.

I worked as an artisan for about two years and later decided to change business. This is where I decided to sell used and new clothes for five years.

I then relocated to Mombasa and changed business to selling food spices which I have been doing for the last 7 years.

I am married with 3 children all grown ups. I am a hard working, go-getter person because I believe handwork and honesty pays.

My business is based in Mombasa in an area called Majengo - outskirt of Mombasa town. I deal with buy spices in their raw state, then ground them, package and supply to retailers.

I source my raw materials locally and from neighboring countries. There is a huge market for this product in Mombasa which is famed for spiced cuisines.

I make a net profit of $550 a month. The sales are constant all year round but it can pick slightly during the month of December due to festivities and also during the Ramadhan season.

I would like to stock more raw materials if given credit and that I why I have joined Zidisha. This credit will go a long way in boosting my stock hence increase my efficiency in my business.

I have now expanded my business territory and I now cover a large area in and outside Mombasa city. I am gland my products have been well received even in far flung areas and this has led to increased demand for the same.

My budget for this money is as follows:

- Buy dried red chillies for a total of USD 200

- Buy cloves for USD 70

- Buy ginger for USD 60.

All the above are fast moving items and I will be able to supply them to my already existing customers.

You did it the first time, I am optimistic that you will do it again. Thank you.
