My name is mutindi. I am 32 years old a wife and a mother of 2 children. I was born and raised in kakamegaCounty as the last born in a family of 5 siblings. Growing up life was not easy for my family as my parents did not have any formal employment and we relied on odd jobs that they used to do for survival. For this reason, I did not manage to further my education due to lack of school fees and primary school level saw the end of my quest for knowledge.
I felt bad seeing my parents struggle to bring us up and I started taking work as a house girl to assist in meeting the financial needs of my family. Together with my older siblings we saved what we could and after 4 years we bought a piece of land for our parents and build for them a house.
At the age of 20 years, I got married to my husband and we moved tokakamega town. My husband works as a shop keeper attendant and I run a small green grocery.
It is my desire to own a big grocery business that will enable me to save enough money to better my life and that of my family
I sell fruits, vegetables and charcoal. I started this business over 2 years ago as an activity that would make me economically active. The biggest challenge of this business is capital for expansion. My customers are mainly the residents of store mbili town centre and neighbouring villages.
I would love to expand my business to generate more income and hopefully open up a hotel.
I will use the money to buy additional stock of fruits for my business at a cost of $20. The additional stock will translate to increased income hence easier repayment of the loan and further expansion and growth of my business.
