I am Bougma Sanata, married and mother of one. Student by profession, I studied up until the "troisieme" level. I am very interested in livestock which is what has brought me here for financing. With the help of my husband and the support of Zidisha, I would like to find myself with land with different types of poultry to enable me to reach a noble life.

My husband, he too trained in the field and I think we will be able to help each other. I am in the province of Ganzourgou, more precisely in the commune of Zam, where I pursue my activities. If I have wanted to start up my own business it is because there is nothing more profitable and precious to do than what you love. Everyone has something that they most love to do in life. For me, rearing livestock is my passion.

When I say that I want to be surrounded by feathers, it's because I want to be surrounded by every kind of poultry possible. I want to live near the water and have land to grow grains on. This project will last a long time and can branch out if there's the will for it, such as in the restaurant or retail industry.

Every job involves risk. For livestock raising, this includes lack of proper care, errors in species selection, and stolen animals among other things. For me, livestock raising is profitable because a species can experience strong growth if all the right conditions are met. It's also work that strengthens agriculture and therefore increases productivity. It's best to pair livestock raising with agriculture to reduce expenses.

I'm very happy to be on the list of lenders again. This time, the first objective is buy dditional hens in order to increase productivity. Once the new heads arrived, I would have to boost the diet of old hens before putting them on the market, thus the need of an increase food intake. New hens would need shots and also anthelmintics to combat infectious diseases that are prevalent in the sub-region. Additional project supplies needed to reinforce the quality of activities: feeders with complementary drinking throughs; a shovel; a rake, a wheelbarrow; an empty drum; a pair of boots and so on. It is also important to dig a ditch for the storage of manure that can be used in the fields. Soon I will need to set up a large building to protect chicks against winds, diseases, as well as other harmful elements until they grow up.

As any other project initiator, ambitions are very high. I would like incubators, brooders, thermometers and so on. Similarly I would like to move from poultry farming to agro-pasture farming as the two together, that is agriculture and pasture-based farming, will allow a cost reduction on the project and hiring workers.
