I was born at Kamina Barracks to Major R Ayaamba (Retired). I attended Kamina Basic School and then went to Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) for my second-cycle education where I studied General Arts. After Senior High, I joined the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and I am now a Sergeant (SGT) at 6 Battalion (6BN), Kamina Barracks - Tamale.
Despite my profession as a Soldier, I love to do business. As such I have opened a mini cosmetic, detergent or disinfectant shop in the Barracks. I sell products such as Detol, Savlon, Pomade of different brands, body spray and deodorants(Spary and Roll-Ons). At the moment, I am the only person who sells these products in the barracks and because the barracks is far from town, I receive more customers who prefer my shop to going to town.
Block C4 is very close to the Kamina Basic School but there is no provision/candy store in the barracks from where parents can buy to appease aggressive wards who do not want to away from their parents. I have tried the market with a box of toffee and a pack of biscuit. I was surprised these items got finished within two(2) days.
As a result I would need a loan of GHS 200.00 to buy a table and more candies so I can display then items on the table in front of my shop.
