I am a 34 year old disabled man living and working in the outskirts of Mtwapa. I was born in Kisii in Nyanza, I am married and blessed with a boy and girl. I trained as a middle level accountant in college about 12 years ago and I am currently serving as an accounts clerk in Mtepeni secondary school.
I also run a motorbike taxi business, I have acquired a second hand bike for around $800 recently which I am still repaying (repaid to date $300). The bike helps me getting to my work place which is about eight kilometers from Mtwapa, a distance I am unable to walk due to my disability, and helps me save about $1.5 daily.
With the salary I earn I am able to pay school fees, rent and other expenses for my children, whatever remains I boost my wife’s second hand clothes business with.
On Saturdays I go to church in Mtwapa sda church with my family and on Sunday we visit the Shekina children centre where we do bible study with the orphans and donate whatever God has blessed us with.
I love face booking and reading the bible a lot and enjoy spending quality time with my family. I believe disability does not mean inability, in fact I am very hardworking man and happy to be one.
I earn about $100 a month as an accounts clerk. Since I was commuting using a hired bike I was paying about $1.5 daily to and from my work place. In order to save this cost I was forced to acquire a second hand motorbike, at the same time I hired a bike rider who offers a taxi service with it. The motorbike is able to make about $4 a day, I spend $2.5 to pay the bike rider and fuel and save the remaining $1.5 daily.
The purpose of my loan request is to pay for my motorbike repair.
Being a second hand bike unfortunately the front wheel broke earlier than expected. It needs total overhaul and costs about $50 to get it back on the road. Since am still repaying my bike (I have a remaining debt of about $500) I do not have the extra funds to pay for my bike repair.
I really hope to receive this loan for $50 so I can get my motorbike back on the road as soon as possible. $45 will pay for a complete set of the front wheel and the remaining $5 will pay the mechanic. I will repay my Zidisha lenders with my salary as an accounts clerk as well as with the income generated from my motorbike taxi service. Thank you in advance for helping me.
