I am a man aged 47, married but without a child. We were born two in our family, I and my sister, my sister passed on at a very tender age. And I was left alone - no brother no sister. I did my high school at Gondar Day Secondary School, but as I was doing my grade 10 my father died and left me with my mother who also died when I was in grade 11. I was now living with my uncle till I finished my grade 12, though I was paying my school fees upto grade 12 through pierce works. Life became difficult when both of parents died and left me still doing high school. This loss I faced during my school age greatly affected my education to the extent that didn't do well at my grade 12 final examination. Hence I opted to do trade - brick laying and I learned this trade through a friend of mine who learned from his father.

In Zambia when one didn't do well at school becoming self employed i.e. doing trade or business is always the best option.

During my pastime I like listening to gospel music.

After I finished my grade 12 of which I didn't do well and being a double orphan I decided to learn brick laying so that I can helped improve my life and meet some other life requirements. A friend of mine, a good Samaritan who offered to teach me at no cost, that was a great break through indeed. All along since I finished my high school brick laying has really helped me, I even managed to marry.

Zambia is a developing nation, so there is a lot of housing construction going on, hence brick laying is always on demand. Though as brick layers we face challenges sometimes more especially in the area of payments, instead being paid at once, we are paid in small installments, as a result it becomes hand to mouth type of spending. So the major challenge that I have been faced with is brick laying tools. If only I can be funded by Zidisha and lenders, the same loan will greatly help me to buy brick laying tools. This type of work is charged differently but typically a two bed roomed house is charged at $450.

I use the income from this type of service to improve my home and family. It also helps me to pay for transport to the work place and improving my career.

With the loan that I am yet to be funded by Zidisha and lenders I will buy (replace) the following tools:

1. Spirit level = $25

2. Squire = $5

3. Measuring tape = $5

4. Steal = $2.5

5. Fibre = $5

6. Trowel = $8

7. Building line = $3

8. Angle tools in and out = $6

9. Float = $2

10. Aluminium strategy = $5

11. Shine = $4

12. Hammer = $10

13. Scaford = $20

14. Wheelbarrow = $45

15. Transport = $7

The loan and the buying of the above listed things will greatly help to improve my career and standard of my family.
