My name is Yacine Diagne, I live with my family, that is to say with my mother and my brothers and sisters, in Dakar, Senegal. At the moment, I am trying to make a living out of selling vegetables. When Cheikh Mountaga Sall talked to me about Zidisha, I immediately knew it was a great oppurtunity to accomplish my goals, because, as I am ambitious and have a lot of willpower, I thought Zidisha could help me go forward. I attented secondary school, but as I wanted to earn a living, I started this vegetable retail business, which, I must say, is quite a success.
Having gone to secondary school, I wanted to earn a living quickly and be indepedent, that is why I chose the retail business, in order to be autonomous. My business consists in selling fresh vegetables. I buy the vegetables, that come from other countries, at the international market of Thiaroye, in the suburbs of Dakar, and resell them to housewives. My business is doing well, as I sell products that are used on a daily basis, and, because my vegetables are always fresh, I have a lot of customers. Even though there is competition, I manage to pull through, as I have my own working scheme. When working, I am organized, methodical and disciplined, which is why I have a lot of customers. Everyday I try to make my business grow, that is why I need your loan in order to have a greater diversity in my activities.
Having regular and loyal customers, I sometimes lack the capacity to meet their demand, and so can't satisfy them completely. I sell vegetables, and my customers prefer me over the others because my products are always fresh, and in consequence of good quality. I need this loan from Zidisha in order to be able to buy more vegetables everyday. I want to be able to satisfy every customer that comes by, because, since I have started to supply other saleswomen, I am not able to meet my customers' needs, as I quickly sell all of my supplies. Thus, in order to keep my customers, your loan will allow me to always have the necessary supplies.
