About Me

My name is Jane Kiarie, married to Francis Muteru. I am a mother of one boy aged 6 years.

I was born in central region of Kenya and schooled there up to college after clearing my secondary school education. I did a course in Front Office.

I was employed after college and worked for four years in Mombasa and then I left on my own volition since i wanted to start my own business.

I started a mobile phone business where I was selling phones and related accessories. I later changed the business and I started my current business two years ago.

I am a hardworking and honest person and these qualities have contributed greatly to the growth of my business.

My Business

My business deals with sale refrigeration materials. I also air conditioners. Mombasa is a coastal town with hot and humid climate which makes it an ideal place to put such a business.

The demand for my products and services is high especially during the hot season. The business is profitable and I make a net profit of about $600 per month.

My business employs one full-time worker and 2 casuals. Given this credit that I am requesting from Zidisha, I will be able to stock more materials in my store hence raise the sales and my profit.

Loan Proposal

I deal with refrigeration and air conditioning. I live in Mombasa - a very hot place and the demand for the items I sell is always there. However, due to lack of sufficient capital, I am unable to stock my store with enough items and this inconveniences my clients who are made to wait to get new supply.

My immediate goal is to stock the fast moving items like compressors and I am sure this will give my business a big boost and make my clients have more confidence with me. One compressor will cost me $30 and therefore, with this loan which I have applied and if granted, I will be able to buy 5 such compressors. I am very sure that they will be sold out in about 6 weeks hence my short repayment period.
